Every dog owner knows the particularly frustrating kind of injuries that a dog can cause, because the well-meaning animals just don't realize they're causing any pain. And from the new Superman teaser revealed during CinemaCon in Las Vegas, not even the Man of Steel himself can avoid getting hurt by Krypto the Superdog.

James Gunn's Superman revealed the new footage on Thursday, and it opens with an extended look at Krypto helping (and, unfortunately, hurting) an already bruised and battered Kal-El (David Corenswet). After Superman crash-lands in the snow, he wheezes and whistles for Krypto who comes racing over. But as the excited pup tries to play with Clark, his powerful jumps and bites only cause more pain. The resigned, tortured look on Clark's face as he begs the happy, clueless Krypto to stop, and tries to convince the dog help by dragging him to the Fortress of Solitude instead, is too real.

"Krypto, take me home," Clark orders in between wheezes. It finally works, and Krypto chomps down on Superman's cape to drag him to the emerging Fortress of Solitude in the distance. Once they arrive, Kryptonian automatons (one voiced by Alan Tudyk) greet them and help carry Superman inside to receive a concentrated blast of Earth's yellow sun to speed up his superhealing.
The nearly five-minute-long video then cuts to footage that was previously released of Superman saving civilians; Rachel Brosnahan as Clark Kent's girlfriend and intrepid reporter, Lois Lane; Nicholas Hoult as villainous billionaire Lex Luthor; Nathan Fillion as the Earth-based Green Lantern Guy Gardner; Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl; Edi Gathegi's Michael Holt, a.k.a. Mister Terrific; Pruitt Taylor Vince's Jonathan Kent sharing an emotional moment with his son Clark at the Kent farm; Beck Bennett's Daily Planet sports reporter Steve Lombard; Anthony Carrigan's Metamorpho; and more.
