Sony has officially announced the PlayStation 5 Pro. Scheduled to launch on November 7, the console is being billed as the “most visually impressive” way to play video games.
The size and design look similar to the standard 2020 PS5, with most of the improvements being powered by a larger GPU, allowing for quicker rendering during gameplay. The console also offers advanced ray tracing, meaning game environments will look more realistic and immersive.
The company has also introduced a new system called PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, essentially AI-powered technology for improved clarity when it comes to intricate details. PS5 Pro Game Boost, meanwhile, can be applied to thousands of existing game titles to stabilize or improve performance.
The PS5 Pro is compatible with all available accessories for the PS5, including the PlayStation VR2, PlayStation Portal, DualSense Edge, Access controller, Pulse Elite and Pulse Explore.
Priced at $700 USD, the PS5 Pro launches on November 7 online and at participating retailers. Pre-orders for the console begin on September 26.
