It’s been eight years since Western Digital acquired the flash memory specialist company SanDisk. The SanDisk brand continues to operate as a leader in the memory space and has worked closely with Nintendo, crafting fun thematic microSD cards designed for the Nintendo Switch. Previous releases have featured everything from Fortnite and Apex Legends to Mario and Yoshi themes. Now, SanDisk has assembled its own Pokémon-based microSD cards for fans to enjoy.
The latest expansion of its licensed portfolio sees three separate designs created for three different memory capacities. Sticking to the original 151 Pokémon, it’s no surprise that Pikachu makes an appearance, with its face resting atop the 256GB option. From there, Gengar covers a purple card that offers 512GB while Snorlax rounds out the range with a smile as it lands on the blue-colored 1TB card. Read speeds go up to 100MB/s and write speeds max out at 90MB/s, ensuring a consistent flow of data.
For those interested in picking up one of SanDisk’s new Pokémon-themed microSD cards, they are available now via the Western Digital website. The 256GB Pikachu card starts at a price of $33 USD, the 512GB Gengar card is priced at $55 USD each and the 1TB Snorlax card can be purchased for $130 USD, however, it is currently sold out on the site.
