According to a new report by IGN, Boss Team Games is working on two new titles based on the classic Halloween 1978 film.
One of the games will feature Unreal Engine 5 development and direct input from the original film’s iconic director, John Carpenter.
In IGN’s report, Carpenter says that “as a huge gamer myself, I’m thrilled to help bring Michael Myers to life again in this game, and my hope is to scare you silly.”
Fans my recognize Boss Team Games as the publisher behind Evil Dead: The Game. Saber Interactive announced the game would end its content cycle in September 2023.
Boss Team Games’ title in the works with Unreal Engine 5 is still “in early development.” Today’s new report also reveals that players will “relive moments from the film and play as classic characters.” IGN’s report did not offer details on the second game.
Boss Team Games will develop both titles based on the beloved IP alongside Compass International Pictures and Further Front.
Halloween 1978 remains a legendary horror film, and among horror games, Michael Myers did show up in Dead by Daylight. However, that chapter first appeared nearly a decade ago in 2016 as the very first paid DLC.
Most recently, Blumhouse Productions delivered a new trilogy of Halloween films that ignored canon after the original movie.
